Biaggi To Set New World Speed Record On Voxan’s Electric Motorcycle

Global telecommunications innovators ROKiT Group are proud partners with Voxan Motors, who is part of the Venturi Group

French motorcycle maker Voxan announced in April 2019 that six-time motorcycle racing world champion Max Biaggi would attempt to set a new world speed record on its electric motorcycle. That attempt was scheduled to happen this year, but it was canceled due to COVID-19.

Now, VOXAN, has announced a new date - July 2021- for Biaggi to drive fast on the Salar de Uyuni salt flat in Bolivia on the first high-performance electric motorcycle, known as the Voxan Wattman. Voxan specifically designed the Wattman, for this world speed record project.

When Venturi President Gildo Pastor showed us the Voxan Wattman and talked me through the world speed record attempt, we were very impressed by his vision, ambition, and the commitment of his team in creating the technology involved. To have our ROKiT red livery on such a unique piece of electrical engineering reflects our ethos as a group of companies and is a real honor. Gildo is a true pioneer, and we are delighted to partner with him and Voxan Motors on what we hope will be a highly successful and ground-breaking record attempt. by Jonathan Kendrick, the founder of ROKiT Group.

The Vxan Wattman looks like a rectangle cruiser but has an un-cruiser-like 367 horsepower and a pressure-reducing tapered tailpiece.
The last speed record was at 329km/h set by Ryuji Tsuruta in 2019. Tsuruta drove a Mobitec EV-02A in the category of “electric motorcycles propelled by the action of one wheel in contact with the ground, partially streamlined, under 300 kg.”

Therefore, Biaggi needs to reach 330 km/h (205 mph) and beyond if he wants to set the new world speed record.
